| Position: Web designer, web developer & webmaster Timeframe: Fall 2008 Location: Boston, MA (USA) Key technologies: CSS, PHP |
This was one of my earlier web design projects and was based on a CSS template from freescctemplates.org. A number of alterations and enhancements were made to the base template to customize the website design and provide a more streamlined experience for the user/customer.
Varchive is an analogue to digital video archiving service, with the mission of providing households and institutions in the Needham/Wellesley area and the rest of the United States with professional, friendly and efficient digital archiving services for old analogue media at competitive prices. The website was used as one of the primary marketing tools for the company and also provided a strong medium of communication for potential and existing customers. A strong focus was made on presenting users with a friendly, uncluttered and simple design, which would reflect positively on the company as a whole. Based on brief surveys, customers appreciated the simplicity and professional look of the website, allowing them to easily find all necessary information regarding our service offerings.
The website is currently being re-designed to include a sophisticated and easy to use order form for customers, which will be linked directly to an internal order tracking database for the company.
